Bean Trees;

With all the flux lately involving this new moon, I have been rather dreary. I decided to take the reigns in my hand and motivate myself to change. I accomplished a few tasks, saved money, met with friends, and got a potentially awesome job modeling for a local vintage website. (More on this amazing opportunity as it comes!) I suppose one really does have control over their time. Take action!

I got my pictures back from my Converse modeling job, but sadly cannot post them anywhere just yet! I am pleased with the results, but feel a bit off when looking at them. I appear tired, unsure, and just overall nervous. Come-what-may, I might be on a bill board in Europe sometime soon. Keep your eyes peeled!

I went to Snack Bar with my mother yesterday for brunch. The weather drove us inside, where we had biscuits with sausage gravy, fair trade coffee, and buttery grits. Such comfort food. All before we discussed the $7,000 loans that we needed to take out for this semester alone. I was lucky enough to get around $10,000 in grants and financial aid, but still need to pay the balance for my classes. I am so scared of not being able to work enough shifts to pay rent, my schedule hasn't even been made yet! Trying times, but all the more reason to become serious about school to reach my degree.

I thrifted all weekend. Estate sales, garage clean-outs, moving parties. I returned home with a red wool coat with leopard print detailing! Somewhere around $4.00. This will surely be keeping me warm come October. I also purchased a silky orange blouse that used to belong to a minister's deceased wife! Creepy if I've ever owned it.

I had drinks with Lucia and Alana yesterday. So wonderful to see old faces! I have missed spending time with people who have known me for years. Don't get me wrong girls, I love my new friends as well, but there us a sort of depth that comes with a long friendship. The kind of connection where you not only finish sentences, but rarely have to filter what you think. It is truly a gift to still be on great terms with two people that have known me for years! I cannot wait to attend St. Edward's with them! Things are moving right along.
