Wednesdays are always the toughest to get through for some odd reason.
Work is picking up now that it is summer, I can only hope that my income will as well! I have managed to unpack the majority of boxes in the new place, but am still searching for mis-matched shoes out of crates, outfits from piles. I feel scattered, both in mind and belongings. I am still under lease for my apartment 30 blocks south. I have to have everything cleaned by next Tuesday. Seems easy enough, but factor in work, St. Edward's applications, financial aid forms, and some form of sleep and there isn't much time for cleaning porcelain tubs. I am determined to have a clean cut. I will shine to windows, hand in the keys, and expect a deposit back in a months time. No problems, no memories. By having the comparison of terrible apartment vs. serene house, I now see that a bad living situation can really take a toll on my happiness. I have lived four different places in the last three years; each with it's own terrors. Residing with others was not for me, a small efficiency became cramped with new love, an apartment overwrought with the possessions of myself and my boyfriend. Now, for 25.00 more a month, I have a carport for storage, a massive kitchen for my cooking pleasure, and 300 more sqft of space in which to entertain, live, and rest.
I suggest that one assess their living space every couple of months, your mindset is really hindered by a lack of flow and ease.
In other news, I am missing seasons past and have been searching for music to inspire me on a Texas summer evening. I am open to suggestion! What are your favorite artists as of late?
I can relate to living spaces totally brining you down. My last apartment was cramped and I felt I had no room to breathe, create or even think. My move back home temporarily for the summer has caused a huge rush of inspiration because I finally have my own space again. My environment has such a strong influence on me.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, you have a natural gift for writing!
Some of my favorite music as of late is Oasis(early stuff), Gram Parsons & Exile On Main St.
I completely agree with the need to assess your living arrangements every few months. I say that having lived in the same place for nearly three years, but still. Glad to hear everything is coming together there.
